Gratitude: and a free photo session for you :)

My stumble (it really has been more of a stumble than a journey) into photography has been on my mind a lot lately. It’s been very exciting, and very fulfilling. It’s also been very frustrating, very humbling, and very stressful at times. I’m still learning and sometimes I see all the great and amazing photography that is out there and it’s overwhelming. Will I ever get there? Does anyone ever “get there”? Where is “there”...?...:) And evolving in a public place (like the world wide web) can be brutal sometimes. But with all of my feelings of inadequacy and doubt I’m continually amazed that folks want me to photograph them! Gratitude is an understatement. These opportunities are invaluable. I feed on the experience and more than that I love to meet you and get to know you and be a part of your lives.

That being said I want to give something to you. I wish that I could give it to all of you but I can’t :). But I do want to give it to one of you...

I’m giving away a free session.

It can be for you, your family, a friend, keep it...give it away, save it for later...it’s yours...you decide. (If you have already scheduled a session with me...you know who you are...you can schedule another or have the one that is already scheduled free of charge). For those that just had their sessions done...have another one, give it away, or tell a friend to enter.

To enter all you have to do is leave a comment on this post about something you are grateful for. I would love to hear what makes you feel that overwhelming feeling of gratitude that washes away other worries. I will randomly draw a winner on Monday morning (May 18th). The only stipulation is that it has to be in Utah. Unless you want to fly me out to you where you live...then I’m totally down! :).

Information about sessions and how they work can be found here.

I can't wait to hear from you! The comment link is after the photo:

I thought all you had to do was be the first and you get it!! haha.... BUT was surprisingly grateful for what you want people to do! Im grateful for TONS of things but what I would have to say I have been most grateful for the most lately is family. When I'm with my family, all other worries go away cuz all we do is laugh and have a good time. And there's not better feeling. Which makes me extra grateful for the little one inside of me to start our own lil family:) (a little add in, i'm GRATEFUL you let me use yur mit last night! Thanks and i'll drop it by tonight:) )

Not a day goes by where I don't thank my Heavenly Father for my son. His existence is truly a miracle and he blesses my life in every way possible.

Every day I'm grateful for family; they're what get me through the hard days and especially when I'm feeling alone.

Alrighty then. By the way it is great to see you on here and that you are doing Photography, that has always been my DREAM job as well, but as my family grows then it gets put off just a little bit more.
Anyway Family is what I am grateful for. I have a wonderful Husband and Three beautiful Children, Callee, Colton and Baby Kate. I was making some pages with Digital Scrapbooking today and Reminiscing about older Memories, it made me cry when I saw my Baby in the pictures. I don't know for sure how long she will be with us here on earth but every moment with her I try to Cherish. Some of the reasons I am grateful for my family are.
My Husband because he is patient with me and when I get down with doctors not being able to help and just telling me that my daughter is a puzzle, he is always there to boost me back up.
My daughter who is only 6 years old because she is the 2nd mother here and just loves to help me out with kate as well.
Colton because he is always in a good mood and always trying to make me laugh when he is about to be in trouble.
Baby Kate because she is my Gaurdian Angel.

I feel similar to the other people who have commented, and I am also grateful for my family. Specifically for my baby boy Blake. Each day he reminds me of the things that are important, and I feel blessed that he has entered my life and helped to make me grow in ways I never knew were possible. Being a mother is the greatest blessing thus far in my life. I'm thankful for the chance to be one.

One thing I've been thinking a lot about lately is how beautiful the earth is. Especially now that the sun is shinning and everything is green and in bloom. It amazes me and take my breath away when I stop and look around me.

I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ--His Atonement and His Church. His Atonement brings purpose and meaning to every other facet of my life. Because of it, I can be with my husband and daughter for eternity. His Church and its leaders have taught me about the purpose of my life and how I can find joy and meaning and true direction. And I am grateful to be able to recognize the influence of the Spirit when I am feeling it--it is one of the best feelings in the world for me.

There are a few things that I am grateful for. Hum where to start.... First of all I am grateful for eyes that see. You and I have this in common I am guessing. As an architect I see the world very differently than most people. I see the our environment (built and natural) through the unique lens's of detail, abstraction, textures, color, materials, etc... I am grateful for a mind that challenges those things which I see and allows me to reinterpret those images into something new and wonderful. I love how the camera lens can capture a moment and suspend it in time; and I love the emotions that come streaming back even years later as you glance at that image. I could go on and on, but I won't bore you or the others reading this. One last little grateful moment - if you don't mind. Almost everyday I travel home to have lunch with my family; a wonderful wife and three great kids. When I leave, my son, Holden, always wants to race his daddy to the end of the block on his bike. I rev my engine and honk my horn and somehow he always wins. He is a speed demon! Before I turn the corner to head back to work he always yells "I love you dad!" I am grateful for a son who loves his dad!

Gratitude is truly a great feeling. Lately, I'm grateful for time with my husband. We've been living apart for 9 months because he got laid off and then took a job four hours from our home so he could continue to provide for our family. After 21 years of marriage, I'm grateful for those small moments we find each day. We just got a job offer in Utah, so we'll be moving there in the next few weeks and will finally have our family together again. I'm grateful for that blessing and looking forward to new adventures with my love and with our family.

What I am thankful for (at this very moment)-- I am thankful for strength to lift a child; I am thankful for sight to see all the blessings that surround me; and I am thankful for mobility to run and play. Trace is thankful for family; Braden is thankful for food; Landon is thankful that his brothers let him boss them around; and Chance is just thankful to observe everything around him.

This is Lisa Johnson's sister. She told me about your website and I love it! I am greatful for my 2 kids (3rd due in November 09). They can do the cutest things. I would love to capture their fun personalities through photography. They sometimes amaze me!
