Working with Kids

I wish that I could take pictures of kids everyday. It's my favorite...by far. I love their funny faces and silly dances and less than perfect moments. The less than perfect moments are my favorite. I mean...it's great to get a shot where they are looking right into the camera and smiling...but better when you get one with their pouting face or their tongue sticking out. They won't be like this forever. Parent's may want them to be on their best behavior at all times, but what about seven years from now? They will be in that awkward early teenager phase!  Then you'll look back on the silly mess of photos with dirty faces and goofy grins and wonder where they went. Don't worry...you'll do the same thing with awkward early teenage photos as soon as they leave for college :).

Kids are so happy. They are freer than we are (the adults). I took these a few weeks back and I think it shows what I'm talking about.

It takes many of these...

To get one of these...

I like both but the first is my favorite. Do something today that you haven't done in a long time. Do something that only a kid would do. Run through a park uninhibited, laugh hard, watch a cartoon, swing, sing, dance like you have no control over your appendages...I just realized all of you young moms are thinking..."these things aren't normal?!...I do this everyday!..." Well, for you moms, remember to enjoy it while it lasts! The only crying I hear all day comes from adults...the joys of working in an office :). Let me know how it goes :).

I love the boy raising his hand in the first one.
"Excuse me! I have something to say!"
