All things old...

All things old make me happy. Vintage is a better word that old I guess. Jennifer and I recently visited her grandma. I noticed a few old photos (shocker...me noticing photos) in some old frames on her dresser. They were thin gold frames with flourishy details. Not usually my style. But I got to wondering how old they were. They seemed really old. My initial thought was to run out to Target right now and get a more updated version of the frames. Hmmmm...But why? Why do we have a constant need to have newer, bigger and better? These photos had probably been in these frames from the beginning. Since they clicked out of the camera. They had been carefully cared for and cherished. It's not the esthetic appeal that is most important. I'm sure that a lot of memories come spilling back when these frames are looked upon. How many times have they been dusted, bumped, moved, touched. Suddenly the framed were the most beautiful frames that I had ever seen and I wanted to get some for myself. They were shiny and dainty and...vintage. Beauty isn't only in the newest trends. It's everywhere. It just depends who is looking at it. So...less bigger and better, and more cherishing and memory making for me!

So in honor of all things vintage here are some old things that make me happy...

Fred and Ginger in "Top Hat" singing "Isn't It a Lovely Day" (which Jennifer's grandmother was obliged to sing with me will we were there):
