Preview: The Cooper Family
Wednesday, August 4, 2010 I remember when Ashley and Scott met. I had schemed to get them together for a while. I myself am hesitant to be hooked up, so I was a bit gun-shy. I had casually mentioned to each of them that they should meet. I'm never brave enough to actually set people up and send them out on their own so I planned a dinner and invited them both (well Ashley lived there so I guess that's not inviting her). There were other people there too, I vaguely even remember who. I remember watching Scott and Ashley though and wondering what they were thinking. There were no outward signs. I started to worry that afterwards they were both going to tell me that I was crazy and that the were both insulted by the idea. When I tentatively asked Ashley about it after the group had left she said, "Who wears basketball shorts to Sunday dinner? He was in his pajamas!" Yikes! Abort...abort! But....she did say that she thought he was cute...a bit of hope. I didn't ask Scott about stuff like that often. So I didn't dare breech the subject again for a while. At a baseball game one day he was saying that he needed someone to go to a rodeo with him. I casually mentioned that Ashley liked rodeos. He said, "I ought to slap you in the face!" :). Scott! This is how he is...not to worry. Two days later he asked for her number and they went to the rodeo. Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but they were engaged three weeks later.
***So I stand corrected! Apparently it was actually five weeks until they were "officially" engaged...but let it be noted that it was only a week after their first date that they talked about getting married. I love it that my single friends have turned into my married friends and are still my friends. I love it that they are having a baby and are so excited about it. I love it that Ashley is one of those cute little pregnant ladies. I love it that Scott takes good care of her. I'm sure that I'm going to love their new little boy too.

Jenny these pictures of Scott and Ashley are so fun! The picture with the baby shoes hit me that Mike and I are becoming grandparents. Thanks for all your wonderful pictures. You truly have been blessed with an awesome talent. Thanks for sharing it with us. We will have to get you to do new family pictures in the future with Scott and Ashley's new addition!
