...charade...

I started my quest for 1960s movies with Charade, which was an excellent choice!! Seriously, I couldn't have asked for more! The trailer said it is equal parts suspense, comedy, and romance. I had my suspicions but it was! The plot was great...I'm not sure if suspense is the right word but it was entertaining. The writing was great...there were some great one liners:

Reggie: I already know an awful lot of people and until one of them dies I couldn't possibly meet anyone else.
Peter : Well, if anyone goes on the critical list, let me know.

Reggie (after she finds out Peter's been lying to her he comes in with a big cut on his back): Of course, you won't be able to lie on your back for a while but then you can lie from any position, can't you?

Reggie (touching the cleft in Peter's chin): How do you shave in there?

Peter: How about making me vice president in charge of cheering you up?

It was a very pretty movie...filmed in Paris. I spent a good deal of brain power trying to think of color combinations, lighting effects and saturation levels that could reproduce how pretty 1960s film is in modern still shots. I would love to see in some these things in my photos soon.

And of course there is Carey Grant and Audrey Hepburn. Really...enough said.

Just watch it... it's a wonderful movie!!

I love this movie!!! It definitely was a good one to start with. And the line about knowing too many people cracks me up every time! Love it.

This is the first movie I ever watched with Cary Grant. I fell in love with him immediately.
