...project: skirt...

Do you ever go shopping in your own closet? The other day I was pulling out some old clothes and decided that some of them where still great but just needed some rearranging. I bought this dress for like $15...oh, I don't know...at least 3-4 years ago at TJ Max. I barely ever wore it because the high waistline made me look pregnant. So I chopped it off and hemmed it up. It's a perfect skirt and it even has pockets. I'm grateful that my mom is an amazing seamstress and taught me how to sew. I alter my own clothes on a regular basis. It's a useful skill. More rearranging projects soon!!

I love it! While I'm completely confident sewing things from scratch, altering clothes scares me to death! I have several items that I would probably love if I could get up the courage and figure out how to successfully alter them... Hmmm...

I've been thinking about doing this with a few of my dresses that are shorter than I feel comfortable wearing, but I have zero confidence in myself. I suppose I have nothing to lose since I wasn't ever going to wear that dress again anyway, right?
