I feel pretty lucky lately. You'd think I'd feel otherwise but you'd be wrong.

A quick story...

So late Thursday night (2 weeks ago now) I started feeling sick and I assumed it was some food poisoning. I was still sick on Friday so then I assumed I had the flu. I was still sick on Friday night. Add dehydration and pain to the mix and I ended up in the ER. I felt really stupid going to the hospital for the flu but I was so dehydrated and the pain was bad. Stacey also told me that lots of people go to the ER for the flu (I still doubt this but whatever). I felt stupid but was in enough pain I didn't care.

So it turns out I didn't have the flu at all. I had a very sick galbladder. I had to have it removed Saturday morning.

Here's where I feel pretty lucky:

+ Most people who have their gallbladder's removed have stones and painful attacks. This didn't happen to me. Though I was really sick and in pain for about 24 hours, I feel pretty lucky I didn't have stones for a long time. Just Cholecystitis (an infected gallbladder). I've seen people will gall stones and I feel pretty lucky I missed that fate. Now I don't have to worry about it bugging me any more.

+ EVERYONE at the hospital was super nice. The ER nurse even put in my IV while I was vomitting. He's a trooper.

+ Stacey knows how all this medical stuff works and was there the whole time. She was awesome.

+ My Mom came to take care of me and then took me to Ephraim to take care of me. These are things you don't think about while your in pain and going into surgery. But then when I came out of surgery my family was there to help and take care of me.

+ I got to hang out with Mom, Analee, and Kadence for a few days. Kadence kept asking me "You OK Jen?" and bringing me things. It was cute.

+ Analee's husband, Shawn, brought us the complete 2nd season of Downton Abbey on DVD. We watched it and it was awesome... let the waiting for season 3 ensue!

+ I have a job that let me take a whole week off to get better. I'm glad they were all more worried about me getting better than getting back to work.

So, in conclusion, I'm pretty lucky. Mostly to have such a good family that cares about me. Thanks to all of you.

Also, to have a new cute nephew to go and visit soon!
